Honda LaneWatch[1] is made to improve drivers' visibility with an included camera on the passenger-side mirror. Once the right turn signal is activated, the camera will automatically display a live video feed of the passenger side blind spots. This camera can be manually activated and covers up to four times greater than using the passenger side mirror alone.

Airbags and More

Front, front-side, and curtain airbags are standard on all 2013 Accord models. An Occupant Position Detection System for the front passenger side restricts airbags from opening when passengers such as children or smaller occupants are out of position but still in the airbag's path. Front Side airbags on the Accord uses a two-camber system to achieve a reduction in collision injuries. To prevent and reduce the chance of rear collision whiplash, Active front head restraints are present.

Honda's exclusive ACE™ or Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ body structure design improves on the safety of passengers  and crash protection during a front side impact. By using a network of linked areas, collision force gets equally disburses all around the front side of the Accord's frame This assists in alleviating any forces that may enter the interior cabin and to other vehicles.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)

As a standard safety feature, every Accord models includes disc brakes with Honda's Anti-Lock System (ABS). The ABS sends pulsing signals to all four disc brakes, countering the chance of a wheel lockup during hard braking. Another standard feature is the Electron Brake Distribution or EBD, which automatically distributes braking force between all four wheels depending on each wheel's braking load. For even more stopping power, the Accord's Brake Assist feature has the ability to sense emergency braking and assist in quicker stops.

The Accord's Forward Collision Warning system uses a radar system in the grille or a small camera mounted on top of the windshield to calculate the distance between you and the car in front of you.
