If saving money tops your list of New Year’s resolutions, start by looking at your vehicle. While you may not think about fuel costs often, each trip across town, to work, or to the store adds up. What if there were fewer stops for fuel and more trips for fun? The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid and 2018 Honda Clarity Hybrid will have you cruising the Phoenix area under budget and in style. Let’s take a closer look at all those money-saving Accord and Clarity features.

2018 Honda Accord Hybrid

Everyone knows the Honda Accord has been the best-selling car in America for the past 40 years, and the 2018 Hybrid model looks to retain this title while also keeping your costs at bay.

The new Accord Hybrid adds fuel savings to the model’s expectable sleek design and other great features. Estimated EPA numbers in the 2017 model are 49 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway. While exact EPA numbers for the 2018 Accord Hybrid aren’t in, it is anticipated that the ballpark may sit north of 50 mpg in the city.

Here are just a few other reasons why the Accord Hybrid is an even more attractive choice for the new year:

  • Improved Cargo SpaceTrunk space in the 2018 Accord Hybrid is now full-size and expandable into the cabin via 60/40-split rear seatbacks. A smaller battery pack in the trunk makes this possible and is a great enhancement over previous models.
  • Awards and Recognition – The 2017 Accord Hybrid earned a 5-star overall safety score from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. The 2017 model also received the Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Award, which recognizes new vehicles anticipated to retain their value over their first five years of ownership.
  • Honda Sensing – The Hybrid Accord also comes with a full suite of safety tech via Honda Sensing. Stay safe, friends.

2018 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell

The 2018 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell powers the electric motor by converting hydrogen into electricity, giving it instant acceleration with zero admissions. That translates to over 360 miles of driving range in one “fill-up.” The hydrogen tanks are mounted securely within the car’s frame for extra protection in case of impact, too.

With a simple download of the HondaLink App, you can check also fuel levels, driving distance range, and the location of nearby hydrogen fueling stations using the “station finder” feature. The app even helps you find your car in a crowded lot and set the inside temperature from your office. Nothing like entering a cool car on a hot Arizona day, right?

Although the Clarity Fuel Cell is in limited supply across the country, Honda is expanding the lineup soon. Stay tuned and be sure to keep in touch with your Valley Honda Dealers for updates!

Head Out on the Highway

According to a recent report by the Federal Highway Administration, Arizona drivers drive an average of 14,493 miles per year. Add in the factor that the U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts regular gasoline retail prices in the U.S. will average $2.51/gallon in 2018, and you’ll quickly see why a Honda Accord Hybrid or Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is a great way to save money. Gas prices will continue to rise, and avoiding the pump without giving up on life’s best automotive features is possible with one of these new Hondas.

Both the Accord and Clarity can seat five comfortably, so grab your friends and family and hit the road. Don’t let fuel costs prevent you from exploring all that 2018 has to offer. By saving money at the pump, you’ll have more money for fun stuff, like the road trip you’ve always wanted to take. Plan your next adventure by visiting any of our Phoenix Honda dealerships today.
