You may find pleasure in watching YouTube clips of babies laughing, but some things in life just need to be viewed in person—like fireworks. This July Fourth holiday, don’t settle for sparklers and dinky Roman Candles! Instead, head to one of these amazing 2018 fireworks shows near Prescott and Phoenix. What better way to spend a Wednesday night?

Prescott Valley Fourth of July (Prescott, AZ)

The Mountain Valley Park in Prescott is a beautiful hiking hotspot. Come Wednesday, July 4, it becomes the area’s most exquisite place to watch Fourth of July fireworks! Free for all visitors, the Prescott Independence Day event will launch their fireworks at dusk (around 9:20 pm).

More details about this Prescott July 4th show, including times and activities, can be found here or on the Prescott Chamber of Commerce website.

Tempe Town Lake Festival (Tempe, AZ)

Held at the Tempe Beach Park in (you guessed it) Tempe, AZ, this Independence Day festival is a local favorite. Before the fireworks show, you and the family will get to listen to live music from local artists. Then, once the sun sets, the July 4th fireworks will light up the horizon. There’s a reason the Tempe Town Lake Festival is one of the best Fourth of July events around Arizona.

Tickets cost between $7 and $10, but be ready to push and weave through traffic to get a great seat on the lawn. Experience tells us you’ll also want to bring a blanket, some camping chairs, and a standing umbrella.

Fabulous Phoenix 4th (Phoenix, AZ)

Hosting one of, if not the largest Independence Day fireworks shows in Phoenix, this free family event pulls in over 100k visitors each July 4th. Held at the Steele Indiana School Park, Fabulous Phoenix 4th will also feature various musical acts, food vendors, arts and crafts, exhibits, kid’s rides and bounce houses, and a “water spray zone.” Best yet, if you’re like many of Valley Honda Dealers employees and customers, you’ll love the classic car show!

This Phoenix July 4th event will begin at 6 pm, and fireworks will shoot off around 9:30 pm. Visit www.phoenix.gov for more details.

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular (Chandler, AZ)

Tumbleweed Park becomes home to one of the area’s finest July Fourth parties. From 6:30 to 9:30 pm, the Chandler July 4th event will get you in the patriotic spirit with featured activities for kids, music, and a formidable grand finale: fireworks! Locals have been coming to Chandler’s Independence Day event for years, and that isn’t stopping in 2018.

Parking is $5 but admission into the park is entirely, 100% free! Read more at chandleraz.gov.

Prescott Downtown Fireworks (Prescott, AZ)

The weekend before Independence Day will feature a fantastic Ford Classic Car Show, but it’s the Downtown Prescott Fourth of July event you’ll want to plan for. Hosted at the Mile High Middle School — a confusing name for a school, right? – the Prescott fireworks show is just out of this world. A beer garden will open up at noon, and live bands will play all the way up to the big fireworks display at 9 pm. Don’t miss this huge Prescott holiday event!

Just $5 gets you in, though $10 will give your kids unlimited access to the bouncy houses. Check out prescott-az.gov for more info and driving directions.

4th of July Waterpalooza (Avondale, AZ)

Although you won’t catch any nighttime fireworks at this Avondale July Fourth event, you’ll certainly stay cool! Free for the entire fam, the 4th of July Waterpalooza will run from 10 am to 1 pm at Friendship Park and includes BBQ, activities, and, of course, about a zillion ways to get drenched.

As we inch closer to July 4, more details about this Avondale holiday event will surely be available at www.avondaleaz.gov.

Arizona Celebration of Freedom (Mesa, AZ)

There’s way more than just fireworks at this classic Mesa Independence Day event! Beginning at 6 pm, you and the family can play carnival games (water balloon tosses, anyone?), splash around in the Splash Zone, listen to live musical acts, take a tour of Independence Hall—the list of activities is almost endless. As always, the night ends with a fantastic Mesa firework show.

Get in on the action this July 4! Head to the Mesa Amphitheatre/Convention Center or read more about this Mesa Fourth of July event at arizonacelebrationoffreedom.com.

4th of July Celebration at WestWorld (Scottsdale, AZ)

This year, the WestWorld (not the HBO hit, mind you) in Scottsdale will be celebrating Independence Day indoors and out of the blistering heat—and you’re all invited! Held in their massive 300,000 sq.-ft. facility, this 4th of July Celebration will have it all: electric animal rides, dog shows, BMX tricks, a Jurassic 4th Dinosaur Encounter, petting zoos, and lots more. At 9 pm, head outside for the fireworks. What an end to your mid-week hump day.
